The owners of the First Street Ale House know a secret that it appears very few other restaurant owners in Livermore know and that is how to attract customers–lots and lots of customers. Nearly any day or night that I drive by the First Street Ale House, there are crowds of people hanging around, waiting for a table. The restaurant must seat close to 200 people and it is almost always filled to capacity.

The First Street Ale House
The Ale House offers an extensive selection of beer. They have their regular beer and then they have their rotating selections. Every Thursday night is Pint Night and you can get a pint of beer in a souvenir glass for $5.50. All refills are $3.50. They also serve local wine.

The Beer and Wine Menu
The food at the Ale House is inexpensive. It’s not the best, but it’s good. And, I’m pretty sure it’s the beer, the people, and price of the food that draw the crowds.
I almost always order the honey mustard chicken sandwich (without the cheese) served with a side salad for $7.29. I like it and you sure can’t beat the price! I also hear the black and bleu salad is very good. It’s mixed lettuce topped with strips of seasoned tri-tip, crumbled bleu cheese, tomatoes and red onions.

Hope to see at the Ale House!
